Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary

The spring, when the rhododendron blossoms are in bloom, is the greatest time to visit the refuge. Rhododendrons of various colors and sizes blanket the forest floor at this season, transforming the sanctuary into a riot of color. 

The sanctuary is renowned for its stunning vistas of the Kanchenjunga mountain range and the surrounding valleys in addition to its rhododendrons. Inside the sanctuary, there are various hiking paths that let people explore the forest and take in the natural beauty of the area.
The closest airport is at Bagdogra, some 140 kilometers from Gyalshing, and the sanctuary is reachable by road from Gyalshing. Permits are required from the forest department for visitors to enter the sanctuary, and it is recommended that they hire a local guide to show them around.
