Base Camp- Gaurikund
Named after Goodess Parvati, Gaurikund is base for Kedarnath Trek. It is believed that Goddess Parvati meditated at this spot to win Lord Shiva's affection.
Gaurikund Village
A holy town surrounded by scenic natural beauty is located near the confluence of two rivers, the Mandakini and the Ganga. There are several hot water springs in and around Gaurikund with medicinal properties.

The Statue of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath was installed in the early 21st century as a tribute to Adi Shankaracharya's contributions to Hinduism and his role in establishing the four monasteries.
