The noodle dish gyathuk is created with veggies, pork, and a hot broth. Traditional Sikkimese alcoholic drink called "chhang" is produced from fermented millet or rice. Pakyong experiences mild weather all year long with temperatures ranging from 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. When the weather is calm and pleasant, between March and May and from mid-October to mid-December are the ideal times to visit Pakyong. 
Local Transportation: Taxis, shared jeeps, and buses are all available for usage in Pakyong. The most practical means of transportation is hiring a taxi or a shared jeep for a whole day or a half-day. For short distances, local buses are another alternative that is more affordable. Pakyong Airport, which is around 5 kilometers from the town, is the closest airport to Pakyong. To get to Pakyong from the airport, one can take a shared jeep or a cab. Pakyong is located around 120 kilometers from New Jalpaiguri Train Station, the closest railway station. To get to Pakyong from the train station, one can take a cab or a shared jeep. The town is easily accessible from Gangtok or Siliguri by bus or cab because of its excellent road connections.
