West Sikkim, India's Khecheopalri Lake is a revered lake with beautiful scenery that is close to the town of Gyalshing. The lake is surrounded by hills and beautiful green trees and is located at an elevation of around 6,000 feet (1,829 meters). Another name for the lake is Kha-Chot-Palri, which translates to "the paradise of Padmasambhava," a respected Buddhist master.
One of Sikkim's most revered lakes, Khecheopalri Lake, is said to have received the blessing of Guru Padmasambhava. Those who come to the lake with a pure heart are thought to be able to have their desires granted by it, according to another legend.
There are many plants and animals living around the lake, which is bordered by thick woods. The Khecheopalri Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a number of rare and endangered species of animals, birds, and plants, includes the woods. Guests have two options: they may take a boat trip on the lake or go for a stroll around the lake and into the woodlands.
Buddhists and Hindus frequently visit the lake as a place of pilgrimage to offer prayers and seek blessings. Around the lake, there are a number of little shrines and prayer flags, and visitors may also observe Guru Padmasambhava's footsteps on a nearby rock.
The settlement of Gyalshing is 27 kilometers away from Khecheopalri Lake, which is conveniently reachable by road. When the weather is nice and the lake is at its most attractive, the ideal times to visit the lake are from March to June and from September to December.
