Rajasthan announced to launch Night Sky Astro Tourism in all districts

With Astro tourism concept in Jaipur, Rajasthan Tourism came up with announcement of 3 new places as Jantar Mantar, Amber Fort, University of Maharaja & JKK to watch astronomical events every year. Besides Jaipur, the Government had announced to launch Night Sky Astro Tourism in all 33 districts of state. 

Announcing about the great initiative, Mugdha Sinha, Rajasthan’s Department of Science and Technology Secretary shared her personal experience of stargazing during strict lockdown. She said, many beautiful astronomical events took place in lockdown period that has increased her curiosity. She brought a telescope and experience the view of sky. From here, she get the idea of Astro tourism for must be introduced in state.

Afterwards, the department has planned to organize the stargazing session at the Secretariat for the officials. After successful event, Night sky Tourism has been opened for public in January. It received a good response with long queue of children & locals to watch the sky event. With high recommendations, we had planned to expand it on big scale. The idea was accepted by Government and CM had announced the launch of Night Sky Astro tourism in all 33 districts on March 3. 

Bikaner House situated in New Delhi also become the hub of new kind of tourism with telescope installed for tourists for skywatching and stargazing.
The concept will work on calendar dates and then schedule will be decided for different districts. 
The Concept will be very useful to aware about science terms in students who are future of India. For revenue collection different workshops as astrophotography and other activities will be launched soon.
