Adventure seekers are loving the concept of Night Sky Tourism that has been launched by Art and Culture Department in Jaipur. It is said that it will stimulate the night tourism in the state and bring new experience for local as well as other tourists.
The art & culture department of Jaipur had started the initiative with setting a telescope at the Secretariat Lawns, Jawahar Kala Kendra and then Jantar Mantar. The tour circle includes viewing of celestial bodies on special occasions across different spots across Jaipur. Using the astronomical technology, locals and tourists of Jaipur can see the night view of Sky, stars, planets, the moon, and much more. Further it I also said that the arrangement will be shared in schools, colleges to inspire students.
Starscapes- India’s first and only chain of observatories had announced to come with Permanent astronomical observatory in Jaipur that will have major equipment’s for stargazing, astrophotography & research work. Recently, they have setup a Mobile Stargate Observatory where visitors get a comprehensive astronomical experience assisted by astronomy experts. The recent observatory is bordered by nature farms and good location for stargazing. Jaipur is ideal place for Astro tourism owing to its geographical placement. They are also expanding their work by setting up observatories in Coorg & Udhagamandalam. They have executed successful project in Kausani, Uttarakhand which is a hotspot for Astro photographers.
The Ladakh administration, in association with the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, plans to promote astro tourism in Hanle village. The Budhhist Monasteries in Ladakh feels that a stargazing experience from the Budhhist Cosmology point of view will create new attraction point for tourists. Probably, in April 2022, the Phyang Monastery will welcome stargazers.
