New Projected Delhi-Dehradun Expressway to Become Asia’s Largest Wildlife Highway Corridor

The long-awaited Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will soon be open for business. When it opens, the 12 kilometer long corridor will be Asia's largest elevated corridor. The route will cut the distance between the two cities' travel times in half, from six hours to only 2.5. There is yet another cause for celebration, though. The largest wildlife highway corridor in Asia will be located along the expressway once it is up and running.

The fantastic news was announced on Twitter by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Pragati ka Highway, as it is known, is Asia's longest elevated wildlife corridor, according to the government, and it is being built to safeguard animals.
The highway would make it possible for travellers to travel from Delhi to Haridwar in only two hours. The highway would go through Saharanpur, Bhagpat, Shamli, and Ghaziabad on its route from Delhi to Uttarakhand.

The final 20 km of the route, which would pass through Rajaji National Park's eco-sensitive area, will be designated as the wildlife corridor. This corridor project, which will also feature a 340-meter tunnel leading to Dehradun's well-known Daat Kali temple, is now under progress. The corridor is being built to save the local fauna.

It's a significant undertaking since the highway would cut the distance between Delhi and Dehradun's travel time to a respectable 2.5 hours. This would make it possible for residents of Delhi to go quickly to any neighboring tourist attractions, like Dehradun, Haridwar, and Mussoorie, among others.

Such future projects will not only bring India in focus, but its valiant effort as a developing country in making vital changes to its layout which will provide efficient accessibility to people all around. It also brings several tourist aspects as well as preservation attempts into light, which may resolve multiple issues currently faced by people regarding traffic and other miniscule problems.
