Uttarakhand’s New 10 Trekking Routes & 30 Unbowed Peaks for Adventurers This Monsoon

The government of Uttarakhand has taken the viable decision of opening 10 high-altitude trekking routes and 30 unexplored peaks to the public which is a notable turn for tourism.

The government has taken this special initiative for the trekkers and mountaineers who want to discover and seek out new routes and peaks to soothe their travel pangs. 10 new high-altitude trekking routes and 30 unconquered peaks have been added to the already existing routes and peaks.

Rishi Pahar (6992 m), Garur Parbat (6504 m), Devtoli (6788 m), Manda II (6529 m), Manda III (6510 m), Rishi Kot (6236 m), Avalanche (6443 m), Kali Dhang (6373 m), and Bhirgu Parbat (6041 m) are among the summits that will be available to mountaineers. The ten new high-altitude trekking routes will also include Nanda Lapak, Yan Buk, Ratangarian, Mahalay Parbat, Bhagnyu, Pawagarh, Lamchir, Lamchir South, Nar Parbat, and Narayan Parbat. The action follows the Central Government's decision in August 2019 to open up 137 Himalayan peaks in Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Each peak is said to score 6000m or above which will prove to be quite a challenge and experience for hikers who traverse here. Although at first, 51 peaks were said to be opened for this hiking excursion, 11 peaks were taken out of bounds considering their importance and contribution to the ecosystem of the nation and security. Only 12 teams of ten people can climb the summit twice a year. All Forest Department and Uttarakhand Mountaineering Association rules must be rigorously obeyed.

The head of Forest Force, Mr. Dharam Singh Meena also added that to avoid trekkers and mountaineers from trashing and cluttering the clean and green forest floor with non-biodegradable squander, the teams need to deposit INR 10000 and on their return to the place show all the waste they have accumulated to get their money back.

Mountaineering and trekking activities will be carried out with the support of local eco-development committees, therefore improving the livelihoods of people living in remote and border areas.

Overall this wise decision taken by the government will pose fruitful for the local community as well as explorers looking for something new and fresh to indulge in.
