The Peruvannamuzhi Dam, set amidst the backdrop of majestic Western Ghats is one of the most beautiful dams in Kerala that makes it a breath-taking picnic spot. This area is a part of the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary and is home to several wild animals. Set approx. 60 km form Kozhikode district in a small village can be reached after 2 hours drive form city centre.
After few months of renovation work the Dam has inaugurated in last week of February’22 by Kerala Tourism Minister. The new facilities include interpretation centre, canteen, open cafeteria, children’s park and spacious parking lot. As per the Government, it will boost the tourism sectors which has been crippled from last 2 years.
With constant initiatives to promote tourism in various ways, Kerala Tourism is working on various projects like Caravan Park, homestay, self-drive holidays and much more. Besides all that, several trade fairs, B2B meetings, travel events are lined up to create more opportunities and growth in sector. They are rolling out the promotional campaign s to attract domestic as well as international tourists once, the travel restrictions get lifted completely.
Kerala Tourism is going to participate actively in upcoming travel events as SATTE, OTM Mumbai and TTF Chennai.
