New Tourist attraction to be soon for Goa Lovers: Candolim's Mangroves

New Tourist attraction to be soon for Goa Lovers: Candolim

Just few days before Christmas, Ports Minister and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo launched the work on a walking track of Candolim Backwaters.  The Candolim backwaters will soon be on the tourism map with fishing galleries, side track and other facilities with thick mangrove forest adjacent.
Candolim is an established and popular tourist destination in North Goa with a beautiful beach, fort and other attractions. It is situated in south of Calangute beach and North of Sinquerium.

As per the Minister,“This beautiful village has the sea and beach on one side and mangroves on the other side. We had received a proposal to develop the riverside where there are mangroves so that tourists also come here. There will be a walkway of around 1.5km so that people can come here for their morning or evening walks. We’ve received proposals from locals who want to start boating activities because locals have to benefit from this. There will also be four fishing galleries where people can come and fish or simply come and spend their time here because it’s a god-given natural beauty,”.

He has a vision to popular inland tourism with beach tourism. It will promote the cultural tour with native people of local villages as Candolim.
The project is being done by the water resources department (WRD). Entry to the walkway and fishing galleries will require tickets, with security guards at the entrance to forbid people drinking alcohol.
