The Gujarat Forest Department has begun the exciting journey towards establishing a lion safari park at the Gujarat-Diu border. This promising venture aims to enhance tourism in the area by offering visitors a chance to experience the wild up close. The park plans to replicate the natural environment to ensure the lions' well-being and provide a captivating experience for wildlife enthusiasts and fans of these majestic creatures. Once completed, it's set to become a major draw for anyone seeking an adventure in the heart of nature.
The lion safari park is going to be a special place for lions that were born and raised in a zoo. It's designed to make them feel like they're back in their natural home, Sasan Gir. There's another safari park called Ambardi near Dhari, but they noticed many people like travelling on the coastal highway. So, this new park will have two lion couples, four baby lions, and other animals, giving visitors a taste of what Sasan Gir is like.
A cool thing about this plan is that they won't have to take more land; there's already a forested area just 7.7 km away from Diu. They want to make the visit more exciting, so they'll have safaris using buses and jeeps for people to enjoy and have a great time.
Nityanand Srivastava, the principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife), has given the green signal for the construction of the upcoming safari park. He mentioned that as soon as the designated architect presents the design proposal, the wheels will be set in motion, and the exciting work on the park will commence. It's a clear indication that they're all geared up and ready to kick-start this promising project once they have the blueprint in hand.
The lion safari park is expected to boost tourism, especially for people travelling along the coastal highway. It's going to be a major attraction that will draw in more visitors and make their journey even more memorable.
Furthermore, the government is also planning to create an open safari park in Kevadiya, giving visitors a chance to get a close look at lions and tigers. This exciting initiative is set to elevate the tourism experience, following the success of other popular attractions like the Statue of Unity. The upcoming safari in Kevadia is projected to be twice the size of the nearby safari, covering a vast area of 375 acres and including a geodesic dome aviary, making it an even more alluring destination for animal enthusiasts and tourists.
