The Rajasthan International Folk Festival, or Jodhpur RIFF, is a cool five-day music festival in Rajasthan, India. It happens at Old Fort in the Blue City, Jodhpur, which is super famous. Lots of musicians, more than 250 actually, come from all over - not just Rajasthan, but from different countries too. They play music together, and it is awesome as they mix their styles and make new and exciting sounds.

Jodhpur RIFF 2023 is going to focus on Rajasthan's special drums and other cool musical instruments like dholak, bhapang, and khartal (which is unique to Rajasthan). They want to share this traditional music with everyone, even kids. They have a special event called 'Bal Mela' where school children from Jodhpur can watch and enjoy different kinds of Rajasthani music and performances. They can see folk dances like ghoomar, kathputli, kachchi ghodi, teraah taali, and even circus acts. The kids can also showcase their own musical talents for everyone to enjoy.
The activities of RIFF 2023, timing and date
The event is scheduled for October 26th with a variety of interesting acts. String puppetry, drumming, woodwind instrument performances, Shafi Sopori song performances, regional dance performances, circus performances, and fire dancing are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and, 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On October 27th, the festival has amazing things lined up. There will be fantastic music performances by Meghwal of Marwar and Kalbeliyas with Mohini Devi. Hear beautiful songs by Makan Ashgvari and Suguna Jogi. There is traditional music from Kashmir by Dapu Khan and Shafi Sopori. And to top it off, there will be energetic dance performances, fort festivals, and even martial arts shows to enjoy. The timing is 5:30 am to 7:30 am 10 am to 5 pm, and 8:30 pm to midnight.
On October 28th, get ready for more excitement at the festival, there will be fantastic performances by Hidayat Husain Khan and DJ Jose Marquez, along with amazing dance shows. Anwar Khan Manganiyar will also enthral the audience with his performance. Experience the powerful music of the Langa, Ana Pinhal, Wouter Kellerman, and Alif. Makan Ashgvari will also take the stage, and you'll enjoy beautiful vocals by Manesha and Agarwal. They will also share the poetry of Meera Bai with the help of folklorist Sumitra, C.P. Dewal, Mahesha Ram, and more. this event timing is 5:30 am to 7:30 am and 10 am to 5 pm and, 8:30 pm to midnight.
The festival keeps the energy up on October 29th with a variety of fantastic performers Enjoy the amazing dance performances and the melodic Saar ke Sur at the fort. Mangka will perform with incredible vocals, and the Kamad community will put on a powerful show. Enjoy amazing group performances and a snake dance that will have you fascinated. Additionally, take in the beautiful sounds of woodwind instruments, which will make your day even more memorable.
On October 30th, the festival comes to a close with a meaningful set of events. There will be film screenings, speeches focusing on humanity and compassion, soulful Carnatic music, and heart-touching song performances.
