Gujarat will soon have Tiger Safari Park in Dang- a district in the south-eastern part of Gujarat state. With Gir national Park-home to Asiatic lions, Gujarat will be known for tiger safaris as well.
With a tiger spotted in outskirts of Dang 30 years before, the place is ready to become home to tiger safari. Initially the authorities have decided to make the park near Statue of Unity in Tilakwada, but final place is Jhakhana and Jobari villages in Dang spread over 29 hectares land.
Initially the concept was to setup a leopard park in Tilakwada but the programme gets revised and it has been decided to set up a Tiger Safari Park amid exotic flora and fauna. For all setup and facilities, a consultant will be appointed who will draw up the project plan and have keen enclosure on animal and vets in the region.
Highlights of The Dang Tiger Safari Park
• As per the reports till date, the park will have eight zoo bred tigers including two tigers, two tigress and four cubs.
• Safari can be done with open jeep with proper arrangements.
