This year Shri Amarnath Yatra will begin from 30th June and will run for 43 days till August 11. The news of registration opening for yatra is definitely a delightful news for pilgrims after two years gap because of pandemic. LG of J&K has announced this pleasing news recently. He has also asked the respective officials to ensure all the arrangements for smooth pilgrimage this year.
Online registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2022 has already begun. To track the pilgrim’s movement, RFID system can also get introduced for security of tourists.
The board has decided that pilgrimage will take from two successful routes-
1) The Pahalgam track in Anatnag District- Undertaken from Srinagar and journey begin from Pahalgam that get covered in 4-5 days.
2) The Baltal track in Ganderbal District- Via Sonamarg is short route but quite steep
Shri Amarnath Yatra is one of the oldest pilgrimage circuits filled with spirit of wander, adventure & spirituality. Situated in the narrow gorge at the end of Liddar Valley, the Shrine stands at 3,888m. It is located at a distance of 45 Km from Pahalgam and 141 Km from Srinagar. The base points for the trek lie under picturesque locations of Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

After the registration begun from 11th April, 33 thousand devotees have done the booking. 10000 pilgrims will be allowed in single day trek. Pilgrims seeking for yatra can register online through website or mobile app of shrine board. This year around 6-8 lakh devotees are expected to turn up for pilgrimage to the holy shrine which will add a positive contribution towards economical development. The devotees are making a line for designated bank branches to seek obeisance to the naturally formed ice-shivling.
