Introduction
New Delhi got amazing place, Bharat Darshan Park in December 2021 to visit with entire family. The Park was constructed by SDMC in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi & inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah. It is spread over 8.5 acres & 22 replicas of famous historical monuments of India can be seen here. On the base of successful theme park in Sarai kale khan, SDMC has developed this park using tonnes of scrap material as old vehicles, fans, iron rods, nuts bolts. They said in a press conference, it is India’s first park developed where historical monuments are built with scrap and waste materials.
To provide a different attraction to the park, illumination factor is considered. It is carried out using 755 façade lights, 3 LED screens, bollard lights, one DJ set, CCTV and many compound lights.
Different shades of light and soothing music enhance the beauty of these replicas. SDMC is working on various concepts of waste to wealth to present Delhi wonderful places to enjoy with different themes. A successful example is Waste to Wonder Park in Sarai kale Khan area opened in 2019.
Attractions
The 22 replicas are Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Charminar, Gateway of India, Ajanta Ellora caves, Sun Temple of Konark, Khajuraho Temple, Sachi stupa, Nalanda University, Mysore Palace, Hampi, Char Dham Shrines, Victoria Memorial, Twang Gate, Junagarh Fort, Hawa Mahal and Banyan Tree.
Apart from the monuments, park has 1.5KM long track, amphitheatre and Children’s zone. The Corporation stated that it has been built with an investment of 20 crore rupees and help of 150 people.
The Theme Park is environment friendly and runs on solar energy. It has five solar tree (Five Kilowatts) and rooftop solar panel of 84 Kilowatts. So, without wasting electricity, it will light up monument replicas even in night and highlight the delicate artwork. For water supply, it has 1 lakh litre STP. To beautify the park attraction, thousands of beautiful flowers are planted as Champa, Tikoma, Kachnar and Banjamina. To maintain greenery all around, various shrubs as erica palm, singgonium, foxtail palm, ficus panda, etc have been also planted.
Bharat Darshan Park Location, Entry Fee & Timings
Bharat Darshan Park is located in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi, which is famous locality of Delhi. It is well connected with road routes and metro. The closest metro is Punjabi Bagh west metro station. The park has a valid but small parking area.
Timings: 10AM to 10 PM
Note: It will remain closed on Monday and National holidays.
Entry Tickets: As per the sources, ticket prices for Bharat Darshan Park for adults is 100 Rs for Weekday and 150 INR in the evening. Ticket prices for Children below 12 years of age have to pay INR 50 in daytime and 75 INR in the evening (after 4 PM). The Tickets are valid for 4 hours to roam inside. As per SDMC, all revenues are collected for maintenance of garden and revenue generation. Visitors can book tickets online or at entry gate of park. There is one entry gate and Exit gate, so you have to move in one line of attractions and then get exit at last attraction.
The Garden Tour
The Park is perfect place for families, couples, children and all age people for 2-3 hours good outing and nice Instagram able pictures. The best beauty is observed after dim light or sunset as lighting make the ambience more beautiful. Showcased as Mini India, The Entry Gate of Garden is Tawang Gate of Arunachal Pradesh.
As you will proceed further, you will see diverse culture and heritage of India with architectural brilliance of famous temples and heritage monuments. Based on the theme of Unity in Diversity, the park showcases renowned replicas of Indian monuments. In the evening time, Light and Sound Show is organized that is very entertaining.
Future Development Plans
In upcoming months, Park is going to have more replicas and a food court that will surely increase client’s engagement. The park with unique theme showcases attraction of country’s 14 states and can be a good time spend by families.
