New Delhi got amazing place, Bharat Darshan Park in December 2021 to visit with entire family. The Park was constructed by SDMC in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi & inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah. It is spread over 8.5 acres & 22 replicas of famous historical monuments of India can be seen here. On the base of successful theme park in Sarai kale khan, SDMC has developed this park using tonnes of scrap material as old vehicles, fans, iron rods, nuts bolts. They said in a press conference, it is India’s first park developed where historical monuments are built with scrap and waste materials.
To provide a different attraction to the park, illumination factor is considered. It is carried out using 755 façade lights, 3 LED screens, bollard lights, one DJ set, CCTV and many compound lights.
Different shades of light and soothing music enhance the beauty of these replicas. SDMC is working on various concepts of waste to wealth to present Delhi wonderful places to enjoy with different themes. A successful example is Waste to Wonder Park in Sarai kale Khan area opened in 2019.
The 22 replicas are Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Charminar, Gateway of India, Ajanta Ellora caves, Sun Temple of Konark, Khajuraho Temple, Sachi stupa, Nalanda University, Mysore Palace, Hampi, Char Dham Shrines, Victoria Memorial, Twang Gate, Junagarh Fort, Hawa Mahal and Banyan Tree.
Apart from the monuments, park has 1.5KM long track, amphitheatre and Children’s zone. The Corporation stated that it has been built with an investment of 20 crore rupees and help of 150 people.
The Theme Park is environment friendly and runs on solar energy. It has five solar tree (Five Kilowatts) and rooftop solar panel of 84 Kilowatts. So, without wasting electricity, it will light up monument replicas even in night and highlight the delicate artwork. For water supply, it has 1 lakh litre STP. To beautify the park attraction, thousands of beautiful flowers are planted as Champa, Tikoma, Kachnar and Banjamina.
