Rohtang Pass is one of the most famous attractions in Manali outskirts located on height of 13,050 feet.
It is one of the famous road trip routes on Manali-Rohtang-Atal tunnel on which currently three electric buses are running. If the demand will increase in upcoming summer season, more such buses are expected in next few days. The buses are available from Manali Bus Stand at a cost of 600 INR for both way journey. As per regional manager of HRTC, the bus starts from Manali in the morning and takes tourists to Rohtang Pass via Kothi, Gulaba and Marhi. The stopover is at Rohtang where tourists can enjoy snow and other activities related. The scenic views will stun the travellers with unparallel & photogenic views. Passing through most attractive regions, the bus will then move to Koksar in Lahaul Valley and return back to Manali through Atal tunnel.
Atal Tunnel is itself a centre of attraction since it gets inaugurated in 2020. It is World’s longest highway tunnel with reducing distance between Manali and Leh. The automatic charging system make it more convenient as once it gets charged in Manali, it can come back to the depot and get automatically recharged using regenerative braking system.
Till date, permit for private vehicle to operate in this route is not easily available in peak season and can be booked online, but tourists travelling with HRTC electric buses need not seek a permit.
