Indian Tourism sector hit majorly by COVID pandemic can get a booster relief after centre intervention. As per Government sources, new policy measures will be constructed soon for reform of tourism sector. The prime focus will be rebuild the Tourism Infrastructure and support employment and business related.
The nine focal points of the proposed national tourism policy includes welcoming the visitor with smooth connectivity, developed road infrastructure, transport means, development and management of destinations, promoting fresh ideas in travel sector, diversifying the availability of tourism destinations, focusing on quality assurance and standards and skill development among others.
As per the new national tourism policy, the government proposes to promote synergy in transport and tourism to enhance visitor experience. Improvement of roadways, railways, air transport, waterways will be the focus. The policy will also lay emphasis on developing theme-based circuits, Buddhist circuits, and special tourism zones with priority to the North-East, Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh. Special attention will promote tourism, employment in less explored but extremely picturesque Indian travel destinations.
