Delhi, the city that has been the epicentre of power and culture for centuries, is home to a treasure trove of heritage and monuments that reflect its rich past. To showcase this heritage, Delhi Tourism has launched guided heritage walks that will take you on a journey of discovery through the city's major hubs and monuments. With knowledgeable and government-licensed guides leading the way, these heritage walks promise to provide an immersive experience and in-depth knowledge about the city's history and culture. So, come and explore the charm of Delhi's hidden treasures with these exciting guided tours!
The heritage walks will cover six different circuits, including two in Old Delhi, one in Shahjahanabad, a walk of Qutub Minar and Mehrauli Archaeological Park, a walk of Hauz Khas, and a walk of museums and memorials. The tours will continue every Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The aim is to showcase the charm of these circuits and lesser-known facts about the city's water history, as Delhites in medieval times got water from Baolis, natural lakes and other water bodies.
The six circuits selected for these walks are Dekho Apna CP, Dilli ka Dil Dekho (Central Delhi near Kartavya Path), heritage walk at Shahjahanabad, food walk, heritage walk at Hauz Khas, and Qutub Minar and Mehrauli Archaeological Park. Each walk will be conducted by a licensed guide accredited by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, ensuring an authentic and enriching experience for all.
