The Char Dham Yatra is reaching its end dates and will soon be inaccessible to pilgrims owing to winter conditions. On the onset of every winter season, all the four dhams see a closing due to the heavy snowfall as well as harsh winters observed by these places. According to reports, the Shri Gangotri Dham egress will close on October 26 at 12:01 PM, while the Shri Kedarnath Dham gateway will close on October 27 at 8:30 AM.
Furthermore, the entryways of Shri Yamunotri Dham will be closed on October 27 at Abhijit Muhurta in the afternoon, while the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will be closed on November 19 at 3:35 PM. On the occasion of Bhaiya Dooj, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be closed.

A Madmaheshwar fair will thereafter be held in Ukhimath on November 21 after the second Kedar Madmaheshwar's gateways are shut down on November 18. The third Kedar Tungnath's portals will also be shut down on November 7.
According to accounts, a large number of pilgrims have visited the Char Dham thus far since these pilgrimage sites' doors opened in April or May of this year. According to reports, 14, 53,549 pilgrims visited Shri Badrinath Dham, 133,947 at Kedarnath, 45,871 at Yamunotri, and 48, 3096 at Gangotri Dham.
Additionally, 38, 34,823 pilgrims made it to Uttarakhand Chardham, and 2.25 Lakh of them went to Hemkund Sahib.
Char Dham had opened its gates for pilgrims earlier this year with Yamunotri and Gangotri Temple opening from 3rd May 2022, Kedarnath Temple opening from 6th May 2022 and Badrinath Temple opening from 8th May 2022. All these temples complete an infamous pilgrimage tour circuit renowned for being dedicated to Yamuna, Ganga, Shiva and Vishnu.
