About Marwar Festival
Marwar Festival, Jodhpur is an annual event held in memory of heroes of Rajasthan fought for their pride and save their territory. Also known as Maand Festival, the festival takes place in Ashwin month near on full moon day (Sharad Purnima).
The art & culture of state is displayed in full swing where Mehrangarh Fort marks a prominent place by transforming itself into a big stage to showcase cultural programmes.
The main attraction of this festival is the folk music based on the romantic life stories of Rajasthan's rulers. The live concerts of famous music bands and folk performers give others a peek into the days of Rajputana culture.
Among other attractions at the festival, is the camel tattoo show and polo. The venue of this festival includes the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mandore and Mehrangarh Fort.
