2nd Edition of Zanskar Winter Sports and Tourism Festival Kicks Off on January 28th- A Celebration of Culture and Adventure in the Heart of the Himalayas.

As per the latest reports The Zanskar Winter Sports and Tourism Festival is set to take place from January 28th in the remote region of Zanskar, located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The festival is organized by the Zanskar Tourism Development Committee and it aims to promote winter sports and tourism in the region and to showcase the unique culture and way of life of the people of Zanskar.
Zanskar's Sub Divisional Magistrate Sonam Dorjay recently convened a meeting to discuss preparations for this Zanskar Winter Sports and Tourism Festival (2022-23), which will take place during the specified dates. By the means of the report, there is a possibility that the Union minister, Commissioner of UT Ladakh, and other famous dignitaries will be attending the festival.
Along with planning and preparations, it was also discussed that Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Information, and Broadcasting, will probably open the event. Additionally, arrangements will be made for food booths, cultural performances and exhibitions, and other things like water supply, medical facilities, participant boarding and lodging facilities, tents, ambulances, etc.
The festival will feature a range of winter sports activities, including ice skating, ice hockey, ice climbing, and snow skiing. There will also be cultural performances and traditional competitions, such as archery and ice-skating races, as well as exhibitions showcasing local handicrafts and textiles.
