If you are looking for a fast and comfortable way to travel between Delhi and Jaipur, you may soon have a new option. The Vande Bharat Express, India's semi-high-speed train that can run up to 160 kmph, is likely to start its service on this route by the end of March 2023.
According to a circular by the North Western Railway (NWR) zone, the Vande Bharat Express train is expected to be introduced between Jaipur (JP) and New Delhi (NDLS) in the third week of March 2023. The circular also advised the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to make arrangements for providing onboard catering service on the train.
The Vande Bharat Express train will be operated by the NWR zone and will be the first new-age train in Rajasthan. The blue and white colour train will reach the 'Pink City' by March 24, 2023. The details relating to the routes and stoppage points of the train will be released soon.
The Vande Bharat Express train is entirely made-in-India and has several features for passengers' comfort and convenience. It has automatic doors, sliding footsteps, bio-vacuum toilets, CCTV cameras, a GPS-based passenger information system, LED lighting, modular seats, Wi-Fi connectivity and more.
The Vande Bharat Express train between Delhi and Jaipur will also have a new design of pantograph that has been specially designed for this route. This is because the overhead electric lines are at a good height on this route due to the movement of double container trains.
The Vande Bharat Express train between Delhi and Jaipur will reduce the travel time between the two cities by three hours. Currently, it takes over four hours and 30 minutes by other trains. With Vande Bharat Express, it is expected that it will take only one hour and 45 minutes.
This will be the 11th Vande Bharat Express train service in India. The other routes where Vande Bharat Express trains are running are New Delhi-Varanasi, New Delhi-Katra, Gandhinagar-Mumbai, New Delhi-Amb Andaura, Nagpur-Bilaspur, Chennai-Mysuru, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Mumbai-Shirdi, Mumbai-Solapur and Howrah-New Jalpaiguri.
