Goa Set to Launch Its Cruise Tourism from 30th September

The Cordelia Express, the domestic cruise liner is set to start the cruise season in the state of Goa from end of September. The domestic cruise ship The Cordelia Empress is scheduled to arrive on September 30 and will officially launch the state's cruise tourist season.
According to representatives of the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), the first international cruise ship is anticipated later in October.
This year, 56 port calls are expected, including 21 by foreign cruise lines, according to MPA Chairman Venkata Ramana Akkaraju. To guarantee efficient operations for the season, Akkaraju assembled a conference with significant government agencies and corporate parties. There was also discussion of issues with taxi and bus drivers.
During the epidemic, both local and international cruises ceased operations. Now that we are resuming both, we want to make the process enjoyable and memorable, stated Akkaraju.
By September 2023, work on the new international cruise terminal, which would cost Rs. 74.1 Crore, should be finished on the 55,000 sq.m. of land. Till then, cruise ships will utilize the current terminal, he continued.
He promised to put in place standard operating procedures for law enforcement organizations to provide a hassle-free experience for both passengers and cruise operators.
According to Akkaraju, "We are optimistic that all cruise guests travelling to Goa would have a nice and memorable experience.
The M S Europa, Regent Seven Seas, M S Nautica, Ocean Odyssey, The World, M S Borealis, Silver Spirit, and M S Ocean Odyssey are just a few of the 51 foreign cruise ships that often dock in Goa. However, the majority of visitors from abroad do not alight here. These new developments will contribute to having a better result in the cruise tourism sector for the state.
