Goa Tourism is all set to welcome tourists with new Mopa Airport from September 1

Goa is famous tourist hub which received numbers of tourists in peak season. Keeping the fact in mind, Goa is going to welcome second international airport named as Mopa Airport. It will get operational from September 1 in Pernem area. It is expected that it will reduce the traffic load from existing and only airport- Dabolim Airport. 

Tourists have to catch the flights at Dabolim Airport which is located in a military airbase INS Hansa and shared by Indian navy. The new airport will be completely civilian and will cater the inflow of tourists in full capacity. As per reports, it can handle 30 million passengers annually once fully operational. The airport will get commissioned between 15th August to 30th August.

Mopa Airport is built under the BOT model (Build, operate and Transfer) and will helpful in increasing number of tourists drastically in the area.

Another benefit of new airport is Dabolim Airport is in South Goa and Mopa is in North Goa. Attractions in North Goa are historical places with finest architecture while South Goa boats myriad of beaches with pristine ambience.
