Sarchu
Sarchu is a distant and beautiful location in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at a height of roughly 14,500 feet above sea level along the Manali-Leh highway. Since Sarchu is the final populated area before the border with the neighboring state of Jammu & Kashmir, it is a popular rest point for visitors en route to Leh-Ladakh.
The magnificent landscapes of Sarchu, which combine rocky outcrops, arid mountains, and sparkling streams, are what gives the city its allure. A refuge for birdwatchers and environment lovers, the area is also home to a wide variety of flora and animals, including several kinds of rare birds. Despite its stunning natural surroundings, Sarchu is nonetheless a difficult place to visit because of its severe weather, with wintertime lows below freezing. Therefore, it is advised to only travel to Sarchu in the summer, from May to September.
