The Kangra Valley Railway, a narrow-gauge railway line, connects Kangra to Pathankot and runs through several scenic locales.

The scenic journey to Dharamshala takes you through winding roads and picturesque valleys. The NH 503 and NH 154 pass through the city, and buses, taxis, and private cars can be hired for travel. The road journey from Delhi to Dharamshala takes around 10-12 hours, while the journey from Chandigarh takes around 4-5 hours.
