
Sabarmati Ashram
Also known as the Gandhi Ashram, this residence of Mahatma Gandhi is situated on the banks of river Sabarmati in Ahmedabad which is about 8 hours away from Kutch district. The ashram is dedicated to Gandhi's life and his crucial role in the freedom struggle. The ashram showcases various chambers depicting Gandhi's life including Hriday Kunj, Vinobhar kutir, Upasana mandir, and the Gandhi sangrahalaya. The ashram has arrangements for groups and tourists visit too.
The ashram is set on the banks of the Sabarmati River, and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and peaceful surroundings. Gandhi chose this location for the ashram because of its serene and tranquil atmosphere, which he believed was essential for spiritual and political reflection.
