Kedarnath Temple
One of the most respected and historic Hindu temples is Kedarnath Temple, which is situated in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. It is devoted to Lord Shiva and is one of the four holy places in Hinduism that make up the Char Dham Yatra.
The Garhwal Mountains' snow-capped peaks surround the temple, which is located at a height of 3,583 meters above sea level. The temple is said to have been constructed in the eighth century by Adi Shankaracharya and thereafter repaired by several kings from various dynasties. The only two ways to go to Kedarnath Temple are on foot or by horseback, and it is said that the journey there is just as significant as the actual worship, or darshan. The beginning of the trip to the temple is in Gaurikund, which is 16 kilometers away from the temple. It takes around 6-7 hours to make the steep, difficult hike to the temple.
