A well-liked hiking path in Uttarakhand, India, the Chandra Shila Trek is renowned for its scenic beauty and spiritual importance. The hike leads you to Chandra Shila Peak's peak, which is 4,130 meters above sea level and provides breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and valleys nearby.
The walk begins in the village of Chopta, which is famed for its magnificent meadows and deep woodlands and is situated at a height of 2,680 meters. A variety of plants and animals, including musk deer, bharals, and snow leopards, call the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary home. The route traverses this area. The Tungnath Temple, which is one of the tallest Shiva temples in the world and is thought to be more than 1000 years old, is the trek's high point. At a height of 3,680 meters, the temple is encircled by stunning mountain ranges.
The hike continues from Tungnath to Chandra Shila Peak's peak, which is roughly 1.5 kilometers distant. From the summit, visitors may see the whole Himalayan range, including the peaks of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kedarnath. The Chandra Shila Trek is best done between April and June and September and November when the weather is nice and the skies are clear. Depending on the route and the pace of the hiker, the walk can be finished in 3–4 days.
