The Agha Khan Palace in Pune, India, is a historic building that was built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslims. The palace was built as a gesture of charity to help the poor in the surrounding areas during a famine. It served as a prison for Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba Gandhi, and other leaders of the Indian independence movement during the Quit India Movement in 1942.
