It is one of the most important historical landmarks of the city. The fort was built in the early 15th century by Ahmed Nizam Shah and served as the seat of the Ahmednagar Sultanate.
The Ahmednagar Fort is a massive structure with a perimeter of over 2 kilometers. The fort features high walls, battlements, and a moat that surrounds the fort. The fort also features several gates, including the Delhi Gate, the Aurangabad Gate, and the Kala Darwaza. Inside the fort, there are several buildings, including the palace of the Ahmednagar Sultanate, a mosque, and a number of other structures.
The fort has treasured some of the best memories of the Nizam shahi dynasty, the rise of Marathas, and the most important of them all being an important part of the freedom struggle of India.
