The highest point in the town and one of Kasauli's most well-known attractions is Monkey Point. This destination, which is only 4 kilometers from the bus stop, contains a modest temple to Lord Hanuman that is constantly populated with monkeys. The Monkey Point, which is the highest point in the town, provides a bird's eye view over the adjacent cities of Chandigarh, Kalka, Panchkula, and the Sutlej River. Visitors may also see the snow-covered peak of 'Choor Chandni,' the highest mountain in the Lesser Himalayan range, on a clear day.
According to local lore, Lord Hanuman's foot touched this location while bringing the Sanjeevani herb for Laxman. What might surprise you is that the top of the hill which is shaped like a foot and the temple is said to be engraved with footmarks of the Lord. It was given the name 'Tapp's Nose' due to the unusual shape of the hill.
There are some things you should know before going like, you can only visit this temple before 5:00 PM, and as it is close to the Air Force Station, you must have appropriate identification with you to enter. It is forbidden to bring gadgets to the shrine. Since most travel in Kasauli is done on foot, it is advised that visitors put on appropriate hiking shoes to avoid getting shoe bites.
There are countless monkey groups everywhere you look. But don't worry! Although they can be a little frightening, these monkeys are often harmless and don't bother anyone. It is nevertheless wise to exercise caution and refrain from bringing open food items to the temple.
