Chail Cricket Ground
Chail Cricket Ground, located in the picturesque hill station of Chail in Himachal Pradesh, is a unique and breathtaking venue for cricket lovers. At an altitude of 7,500 feet above sea level, it is the highest cricket ground in the world. The ground was built in the early 1890s by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, who was banished from Shimla for eloping with Lord Kitchener's daughter.
The cricket ground has a captivating backdrop of majestic snow-capped mountains and lush green forests. The ground itself is well-maintained and has a natural turf wicket that is considered to be among the best in India. The small size of the ground and Its high altitude makes it challenging for batsmen to score big, while the bowlers have an advantage due to the thin air that reduces the amount of resistance on the ball.
