The Pindari Glacier Trek is a popular hiking trail in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India. The trail takes trekkers through the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas, passing through dense forests, alpine meadows, and remote villages. The trek starts from the small town of Loharkhet, which is located about 20 km from Bageshwar. From here, the trail ascends through forests of oak, rhododendron, and deodar, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. After a few hours of hiking, trekkers will reach the village of Dhakuri, where they can camp for the night.
The next day, trekkers will continue their journey towards Khati village, which is the last inhabited village on the trail. From Khati, the trail leads to Dwali, where trekkers can camp for the night. The next day, trekkers will reach Phurkiya, which is the base camp for the Pindari Glacier. From Phurkiya, trekkers will make their way towards the Pindari Glacier, which is about 5 km from the base camp. The glacier is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Trekkers can spend some time exploring the glacier before returning to Phurkiya for the night.
The trek back to Loharkhet follows the same route, taking trekkers through the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas. The entire trek takes around 7-8 days to complete and is suitable for both novice and experienced trekkers.
