
Gurustahan
Gurustahan, also known as Guru Sthan or Guru Tegh Bahadur Memorial, is a historical site located in Anandpur Sahib, a city in the northern Indian state of Punjab. The site holds significant importance in Sikh history as it marks the spot where the ninth Sikh guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, set up his camp and stayed for several months.
The site is marked by a memorial, which stands tall as a testament to the sacrifices made by Guru Tegh Bahadur. He was a spiritual leader who stood up against the religious persecution of the Mughal Empire in the 17th century. His martyrdom at the hands of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb is considered to be a pivotal moment in Sikh history and a symbol of the community's resistance to tyranny.
