Mangala Devi Temple, situated in the Idukki district of Kerala, is a famous Hindu pilgrimage center known for its rich cultural heritage and ancient architecture. The temple is located in the dense forests of the Periyar Tiger Reserve and is accessible only by trekking through a narrow pathway surrounded by lush greenery. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mangala, an avatar of Goddess Kali, and attracts devotees from all over the country.

The temple's unique architecture is an excellent example of the Kerala style of temple construction, with intricate carvings and beautiful paintings adorning the walls and pillars. The temple is situated on top of a hill, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The temple is surrounded by a dense forest, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The temple is open for visitors only during the annual Chitra Pournami festival, which usually falls in April/May. During the festival, the temple comes alive with colorful processions, music, and dance performances. Devotees from all over the country come to seek the blessings of Goddess Mangala and witness the grandeur of the festival.

Visitors can enjoy a trek to the temple through the dense forests of the Periyar Tiger Reserve, which is a thrilling experience in itself. The trek is moderate and takes around 2-3 hours to reach the temple. En route, visitors can spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, deer, and monkeys, and enjoy the serene beauty of the Periyar forests.
