Artist Village
Native ResidenceSaputara, a charming hill town in Gujarat, India's Dang district, is home to Artist Village, a distinctive cultural center. The village serves as a venue for regional craftspeople to display their talents and promote their traditional arts and crafts.
Almost 60 artisan families live in the town, which occupies a space of about 5 acres. The artisans are skilled in several ancient skills, such as weaving, ceramics, Warli painting, and bamboo work. Visitors to the Artist Village get the opportunity to observe the craftsmen at work and directly buy their handmade goods.
