The Indian Naval Aviation Museum is a one-of-a-kind museum in the Indian state of Goa. It highlights the Indian Navy's aviation wing's long heritage and contributions to the country's maritime security. The museum, which opened in 1998, is located within the Naval Aviation Enclave at Dabolim Airport. It is home to a large collection of historic aeroplanes, weaponry, engines, and other relics.
The interior gallery, which houses a variety of displays such as pictures, models, and extensive information on the Indian Navy's aviation history, is one of the museum's key draws. The gallery also showcases numerous accolades and medals bestowed upon Indian Navy pilots in recognition of their courage and service. Visitors may also tour the outdoor exhibit area, which has antique aeroplanes. The museum houses aircraft models spanning from World War Two vintage to the present jet age. The 'Sea Harrier,' a combat aircraft that played a critical part in the 1999 Kargil War with Pakistan, is the major feature of the outdoor exhibit area.
Visitors may even step into an operating 'Hunter' aircraft and explore the cockpit of a fighter plane at the museum. Another centrepiece of the museum is a full-size model of an aircraft carrier that depicts major aircraft carrier components such as the flight deck, bridge, and hangars. The museum also includes a small souvenir store where you can buy books, models, and toys linked to aviation.
