The National Military Memorial is an Indian war memorial located in New Delhi. The memorial honours Indian Armed Forces troops who died in World War I, World War II, and the Indo-Pakistan Wars of 1947, 1971, and 1999. Rajeev Sethi, an Indian architect, created the memorial, which was dedicated in 2019.
The National War Memorial covers 40 acres and has four concentric circles: the "Amar Chakra" or Circle of Immortality, the "Veerta Chakra" or Circle of Bravery, the "Tyag Chakra" or Circle of Sacrifice, and the "Rakshak Chakra" or Circle of Protection.
An eternal flame burns in remembrance of the unknown soldier, signifying the sacrifices made by Indian troops in the service of the nation.
The monument also includes a museum, which has a variety of relics and memorabilia linked to the Indian Armed Forces, such as weaponry, uniforms, and soldiers' items. The museum educates visitors on the history and culture of the Indian Armed Forces, as well as the sacrifices made by its personnel.
The National War Memorial is also a popular site for veterans, families of deceased soldiers, and school groups to pay their respects to the fallen warriors.
