Last Sunday, Sinthan Valley in District Kishtwar saw an exciting snow skiing event. It was all about having fun in the snow and promoting adventure tourism and winter sports. The event was made possible by teamwork. The District Administration Kishtwar led the way, and they got help from the Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA), Sub Divisional Administration Chhatroo, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, and the District Youth Service and Sports Department. Together, they created an awesome experience that celebrated Sinthan Valley's beauty and the joy of winter sports.
This thrilling event saw more than 50 skilled skiers in action. Among them were passionate trainees from the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, who added to the excitement. The slopes of Sinthan Valley were alive with their excitement and skill in skiing.
The event organizers highlighted that a notable number of female participants took part, showing the increasing interest and involvement of women in winter sports. They also praised Kishtwar as a hidden treasure with huge potential for adventure tourism and winter sports. The event showcased the incredible talent and interest of the local youth.
Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Devansh Yadav expressed the vision to establish Kishtwar as a well-known winter sports destination. He assured the commitment to develop the essential infrastructure and support required for this goal.
