IRCTC proudly announced the Chardham yatra package 2022 that will depart from Kochi by air and continues with road trip from Delhi. There are four holy shrines in Chardham Yatra located in valleys of Uttarakhand. Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri & Gangotri are four revered names. Pilgrims from all over the world and India awaits the opening of shrines this year after two consecutive pandemic years.
Chardham Yatra is accessible by various routes. From corners of country, pilgrims visit Haridwar, Dehradun, Rishikesh or Delhi to commence the tour. This year the Chardham yatra is scheduled to start from May 3 with the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams followed by Kedarnath Dham on 8th may while Badrinath Dham on 6th May. Positive news for Uttarakhand tourism as more than 1 lakh tourists had already registered for the Char Dham Yatra.
The package launched by IRCTC is of 12 days that will begin from Kochi and will cover Haridwar, Barkot, Janki Chatti, Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Guptkashi, Kedarnath, Gaurikund, Rudraprayag and Badrinath.
Itinerary for the 12 days Chardham Tour from Kochi-Delhi-Chardham is as follows:
DAY 1: Kochi - Delhi – Haridwar
Kochi to Delhi by Flight. Delhi to Haridwar by road.
DAY 2: Haridwar - Barkot / 200 Kms / 8-9 Hrs
DAY 3: Barkot - Janki Chatti - Yamunotri - Jankichatti - Barkot / 40 + 40 Kms Drive / 6 + 6 Trekking / 9 - 10hrs
DAY 4: Barkot - Uttarkashi / 100 Kms / 5-6 Hrs
DAY 5: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi / 100 + 100 Kms / 11-12 Hrs
DAY 6: Uttarkashi - Guptkashi / Sitapur 250 - 290 / Kms / 10-11 Hrs
DAY 7: Guptkashi / Sitapur - Kedarnath / Driving 35 / Trekking 16 / 8-9 Hrs
DAY 8: Kedarnath - Gaurikund - Sitapur / Guptkashi One Side Trek 16 Kms / Driving 35 Kms /6-7 Hrs
