With various initiatives taken up by State Tourisms, Haryana Government had recently organized Aero Sports Carnival near Damdama Lake, Sohna, Gurugram with the joint association of Aero Club of India. CM Manohar Lal Khattar had laid the foundation stone for the development of a center for adventure sport. The beautiful water body is situated amid the picturesque location of Aravali Hills few km away from Delhi NCR.
Damdama Lake is one of the biggest lakes of the state with few tourist activities such as swings, camel rides, a soothing environment ideal, or a day outing. Being a favorite picnic spot for residents of Delhi NCR, the new Aero Sports facilities will attract more visitors. Saying about his interest in sports, CM said- sports are an integral part of physical development. With the launch of various sports at Tikkar Tal in only Hill Station of Haryana- Morni Hills, the process has to continue with new developments across beautiful lakes. Campsites, Hot air ballooning, Paramotoring, Aeromodelling, Drones were the Key attractions of the carnival held where visitors get a demo of flying high in the sky.
The plan to develop Damdama lake as an eco-tourism base was sought in 2018 but pandemic has made enough delay into it. The lake has been envisaged as a one-stop destination for both aero and water-based adventure sports. It will also help in increasing employment opportunities for local youths. It will also attract the attention of corporates, schools, colleges to plan a weekend excursion for a unique experience.
