PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ganga Expressway-The longest highway in India

On 18th December 2021, PM Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of the most awaited Ganga Expressway. It will be the longest highway in India with 6 lanes and 594 km length. Vision of this expressway is to improve connectivity and boost tourism as well as employment options. The expressway will connect Bijauli village along NH-334 in Meerut and go on till near the Judapur Dandu village near Soraon of NH-2 in Prayagraj. The highway will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, RaeBareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.

Apart from this, there will be a 3.5 km long air strip will also be built in Shahjahanpur for assisting emergency landing and take-off of Air Force planes. Further development phase includes industrial corridor construction that will boost income of agriculture, tourism and other industries. The expressway will have young green saplings on both the sides to feature green environment.
