Winter season is popular among tourists especially for ski destinations and snow games. But the increasing graph of COVID has put a break on Famous tourist attraction-Auli Ropeway from 12th January. As per Chamoli CMO, 30 staffers tested positive for COVID-19 which includes ropeway staff, cab drivers, porters. Further they also said, that every tourist will be checked for COVID and then only entry will be permitted with valid test report & vaccine certificate.
The famous ropeway carries people from Joshimath to Auli. Auli lies at a height of 2900 metres above sea level is the most popular ski destination & visited by thousands of tourists in month of December & January. In these months, Tourists get mesmerized with heavy snowfall and picturesque vibes all around in White snow covered Auli.
While the ropeway is closed, travellers have to travel a distance of 16 Km to reach Auli from Joshimath.
