Take a dip in Culture and divine at graceful event of Jagannath Rath Yatra at Odisha

Odisha, the coastal state is home to one of the four sacred dhams of India- Lord Jagannath Temple. The state celevrate 148 festivals including major ones and yatras too. the most famous yatra is Rath Yatra festival celebrated in grand level in the month of june-July annuaaly.This is an special event as evryone get the opportunity to behold the sight of idols of their revered dieties. Besides Yatra rituals, there are prominent places to explore in Odisha to make your state journey memorable.

On this grand event, the entire state is decorated and become host of devotees from across the world. The prepartions of Yatra begins days ago to make the event perfect. Check here the schedule for the Rath Yatra 2022:

1st July 2022: Commencing day of festival where the deities begin their journey towards the Gundicha Temple

During the annual Rath Yatra, the three deities come out of the sanctum sanctorum of the Jagannath temple through a ceremonial procession for the much-awaited journey to Gundicha temple.

8th July 2022: After residing seven days in Gundicha Temple, devotees get a glimpse of Trinity on Adap Mandap Darshan which is a special occasion.

9th July 2022: On this day, the dieties will return back to their home i.e. Jagannath Temple

During the seven days stay at Gundicha Temple, the three decorated chariots stay at Saradha Bali. Among the chanting of Hari bola and Jai Jagannath, laks of devotees has taken participation in the event after 2 years gao of pandemic. CM of state has alos expressed his happiness after pulling chariot of Lord with praying prosperity for public.
