Goa is going to celebrate diversity in first month of New Year with special festival organized for persons with disabilities. The fest is joint initiative of Goa State Commission & Directorate of Social welfare & entertainment society of Goa.
What is Purple Fest Goa
It is first of its kind inclusive festival in India that embraces, expresses and celebrate the persons with disabilities. It is a nice try to welcome them and include with other people around. With a very noble aim, it welcomes people to express them positively & how to bring inclusivity in our society to support each other. Name of fest is chosen after purple colour as in recent days, purple colour has been associated with disability & denote contribution of wider community of disabled people workforce.

Date: 6th -8th January 2023
Venue: Entertainment Society of Goa Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, Panaji
Entry Tickets: The event is free for Goan Delegates and students with disabilities. For others, registration charge is 1000 INR per person. Exhibitors can register themselves with a nominal fee of 2500 INR to take part.
Logo for Purple fest had been launched by CM of Goa recently in November, During launch ceremony, he announced that Goa will be future destination to be enjoyed with person even with disabilities. He further added that the events during the festival directly celebrate diversity and would include discussions on employment opportunities in private and Government sector both. Government will try to make important places as some beaches and heritage sites easily accessible to divyangs during purple fest.
The Three-day event will feature live performances in form of dance or expressions, grand exhibitors, sports events, immersive experience zone and an innovation mela. A special programme related to sign language will also get conducted including information, workshop & training. There will be music concerts, interactive sessions, blind car rally and birdwatching activities as well. For artists, live art camps are also included in fest.
