In a noteworthy partnership, the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India has joined forces with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to unveil the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard. Launched on Tuesday 5th September 2023, this innovative dashboard signifies a collaborative effort to create a knowledge-sharing platform that steers the world towards a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive tourism industry. It serves as a pivotal achievement in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), representing the united dedication of the global community during India's G20 Presidency.
Crafted under India's influential G20 Presidency and in close collaboration with the expertise of UNWTO, the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard stands as a testament to India's unwavering dedication to the cause of sustainable tourism. This remarkable platform curates the best practices, illuminating case studies, and valuable insights derived from G20 member nations, meticulously designed to align with the ambitious goals of Sustainable Development.
As a comprehensive online public resource, it amalgamates the collective wisdom of the G20 Tourism Working Group, encompassing the GOA Roadmap survey findings, all while serving as a beacon for sustainable tourism practices. Furthermore, it offers an invaluable space for the exchange of knowledge, fostering collaboration among stakeholders and propelling the growth of the global tourism industry.
The virtual launch of the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard drew participation from a diverse array of attendees, including G20 member countries, invited nations, international organizations, various Indian states and Union Territories, as well as key industry stakeholders. During the virtual ceremony, G. Kishan Reddy, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and DONER, officially introduced the dashboard, accompanied by a compelling launch video.
This dashboard serves as an illuminating beacon of knowledge, catering to both public and private stakeholders on a global scale.
