Athithi Devo Bhava-Madhya Pradesh Tribals Welcome Visitors to Explore Culture and Heritage

Madhya Pradesh is making it easier for tourists to experience the unique tribal cultures up close. Recently, tribal families in places like Mandu and Kalakund have opened their homes to visitors, by making their houses into small hotels.
According to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, this is a big opportunity for tourists to see and learn about the local tribal way of life. You can find these special places to stay in areas like Barkheda, Gunjara, Malipura, Sulibardi, and Bhil Barkheda. So, travellers have lots of choices to enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience.

The tourism department in the state of Madhya Pradesh has some big plans. They want to create homestays, like guesthouses, in 100 different villages all across the state. They hope that this will bring in tourists not only from India but also from other countries. To make these homestays special, they're getting help from experts and working with various non-profit organizations (NGOs).

Their goal is to use local materials and show off traditional art and culture. They also want to introduce visitors to the delicious tribal foods of the region. Madhya Pradesh is home to 46 different tribal groups, with the Bhils being the largest in number, followed by the Gonds, Baiga, Bheel, Kol, and Korku tribes.
