Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve- India’s 52nd Tiger Reserve notified in Rajasthan’s Bundi 

Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve get notified as 52nd Tiger reserve of India on 16th May, 2022. It will be a major corridor connecting tigers of Ranthambore and Mukundra Reserves situated in Rajasthan. The 4th tiger reserve of Rajasthan after Ranthambore, Sariska and Mukundra is expected to provide sustainable tourism and conservation to wildlife. It will conserve biodiversity and bring ecotourism and development to the area.

Although, tiger population in the Ramgarh area is not very high but plays an important role for movement of tigers of Ranthambore and Mukundra. As per reports and field director of reserves, tiger population in Ranthambore has risen to 80 which is causing fight between them for territorial dominance. Some of them are often spotted in Ramgarh Vishdhari area which makes the authority to take the decision of developing new reserve to control the over population. It will not just protect an important wildlife corridor while also aid in habitat improvement for other animals. 

About Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve

It’s major part is located in Bundi district and in part of Bhilwara and Kota districts. Indian wolf, leopard, Chinkara, foxes and antelope can also be found here in the vast expanse of forest reserve. The new toger reserve has rich flora making ot perfect for reserch and education. Near by attractions as Bhimlat, Ramgarh palace will add employment opportunities to locals.
