Ladakh tourism has decided to give an upgrade to Nubra Valley and developed it as a multi-destination area with improved facilities and year around destination. The valley has extreme climate that requires some refurbishment to attract more tourists and meaningful trip.
One of the major developments will undergo with fencing around Hunder Sand Dunes which will provide security & safety to double humped camels. These Bactrian Camels are major part of desert safari tourism. The officials are suggested to take care of fitness of animals in area with good measures and offering fitness certificates. Areas for grazing grass and shelter should be taken care of for their well-being and throughout development. Camel fodder supply in the area should be ensured for proper care.
New plans are also proposed to develop tourism activities, one of which is Sumoor Desert where tourists can enjoy desert safari. Other facilities are online booking facilities for camel rides, Wi-Fi facilities, café area with washroom facility, parking space for visitors and solar-powered establishments.
The area to be refurbished as multi-destination, for which popular silk route heritage walks, nature walks and heritage walks around the area has to be promoted. Astro tourism has large impact in this area where visitors enjoy to look into star studded sky with advanced technology.
May to August is best time to reach Ladakh and explore its vivid attractions.
